Her work is currently being exhibited in various venues in the blue mountains. Gerlinde's preferred genre is figurative and she has participated in over 13 events and exhibitions during this time; recently winning the springwood arts festival portraiture award.

Gerlinde is a self taught artist who lives and works in the Blue Mountains, MSW. Her love of sketching precede to her to transition to Oils in 2008 focusing on customary figurative and portraiture work. Her honest portraits are executed with attention to light and detail with reverence for her subjects. Throughout her work, Gerlinde invites the viewer to enter the space within the painting and she aims to seize her subjects in a moment in time. Gerlinde's opuses are soaked in a luscious nostalgia, veneered with the patina hint of a Fresh Screen magazine circa 1932, rescued from a forgotten valise in a decaying movie house, resurrecting, mighty with cinematic volt charge. They are convinced and defiant in their gaze, exhibiting vaingloria and joy, or in some singular cases, bearing the Frigidaire chill of a blonde temptress, as she steps out from the S M frame of a Hitchcockian dream Del.
