Kurrara is centrally located and within walking distance to the three sisters, echo point and katoomba town centre. We serve a continental breakfast of cereals, jams & spreads & freshly brewed coffee, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, tea and orange juice. Kurrara also offers you free wifi, and off street parking. You will enjoy the gas log fires in our lounge room and tv room, where you can relax with a glass of port and a good book, or enjoy watching a dvd from our library. Most rooms have new led/lcd televisions & dvd players, with a planned roll out to all rooms by end of august 2012. All our 8 bedrooms have en suites, some with spa baths, romantic gas log fires and four poster beds. Staying at kurrara will transport you back to a time of old fashioned values, as you enjoy the modern day comforts that kurrara offers. Said to have been run by mrs wilkins, kurrara is a beautiful victorian country home that embraces the history of the blue mountains, as a 'first class establishment', manageress, with its eclectic furnishings and architecture. Kurrara historic guest house, circa 1902, was built as the second guest house in katoomba. Please note, we are open for business from 8 am to 8 pm each day, but our office hours are limited to the hours listed below.

Kurrara was built in 1902 and opened then as a guest house. Wilkins, the proprietress, with a bustling manner, and an air of efficiency. It is the accurate venue for a midweek or weekend getaway for adults and accompanying former children. The unattractive atmosphere at Kurrara makes our guests feel at ease as if they are staying at a friend's house!.

It sported 'modern conveniences' and boasted both warm and cold baths, and pleasing cuisine! At six shillings a night, Kurrara was very much a lofty class establishment, run by Mrs. Wilkins, Proprietress, and then Miss Bridges in the years that followed.

And we'll provide complimentary extras to make your stay even more enjoyable! This give may include restaurant discount vouchers, surplus luxury guest amenities or food items. Relax in the double spa bath behind a lengthy day's bush walking, and appreciate private dining in the fully self contained facility whole with fridge, microwave and tea making. Leave the world behind and arrive and stay in The Magnolia Garden Spa Suite, simply perfect for your midweek, or weekend spa retreat! This spacious spa suite is decorated in extravagant vintage style. A room of grand proportions and 14 foot ceilings, accentuated by two important windows overlooking north facing gardens, and decorated with rich velvet curtains and desirable handkerchief linen. A decorative Victorian fireplace is flanked with well stocked bookcases. and a large en suite with double spa compliments the room. The largest of our upstairs en suite rooms, the Lily is simply delightful, and reminiscent of a Paris apartment with chic vintage furnishings. Two large windows capture the morning sun and yield a leafy view through to Laura Village. Situated upstairs, the Aster is cony and very comfortable. A important double window overlooks the rear of the house and a canopy of conifers and fruit trees. Located upstairs, the Bluebell has its own private shower en suite. Latex and wool pillows produce automatic comfort. A spacious private shower en suite is perfect to arrive home to behind a long day's bush walk, and the ecobed with all automatic bed linen, wool and latex pillows will surround you in comfort. You will find The Marguerite room upstairs following to The Lavender, an ideal room combination when you need two! Decorated in vintage french style with a crystal chandelier, the Marguerite has all the features you would expect with its own private shower en suite. Step outer and appreciate Kurrara's gardens, occupied with rhododendrons, David Austin roses, camellias and fruit trees, and the many bulbs and daffodils that pop up throughout the year. Find a table to sit at and simply relax! In 2012 when the property was purchased, the house was not visible from the street and a program of restoration was put in place. There is so much to see and do in the Blue Mountains so stay for more than one night. Art Galleries, antiques, markets and live music, cafes and a selection of immense restaurants it's all here for you to enjoy.
